Desmar Jackson scored 16 points, all in the second half, to lead the Wyoming Cowboys to their fourth win of the season, a 61-48 victory over the Denver Pioneers Tuesday night at the Arena Auditorium.

An 11-0 first half run, highlighted by a monster jam by Djibril Thiam, gave Wyoming (4-6) a 20-11 lead they would never relinquish.  They were up 24-16 at half.  Denver (2-9) got within four early in the second half, but the Pokes responded with six straight points and pushed the lead back to ten at 32-22 with 15 minutes left.  They led by as many as 16, at 59-43, late in the game.

Three other Cowboys finished in double figures.  Amath M'Baye had 11 points and 9 rebounds, while Thiam and JayDee Luster added 10 points each.

Denver was led by Travis Hallam with 17 points.  Chase Hallam scored 11.

UW out-scored the Pioneers 32-to-12 on points in the paint and enjoyed a 32-13 edge on the glass.  The Cowboys also shot 24-of-30 from the free throw line, which included 11-of-12 down the stretch that sealed the win.

The Pokes continue their five-game homestand Friday night against Western State College from Gunnison, Colorado.  Game time is set for 7 pm.
