The Global Strike Challenge in Louisiana pits different wings of the Air Force Global Strike Command against each other in military competition. F.E Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne is home to the 90th Missile Wing. They will be looking to defend their title as last year they won the competition and took home the Blanchard Trophy!

Throughout the history of our great nation our country has built up a military force that is second to none. Our military forces fight to protect the rights of American citizens and to be the best requires constant training and preparation. The Global Strike Challenge is one of those training and preparation opportunities.

The Global Strike Challenge brings missile and bomber wings from the Air Force Global Strike Command together to compete in a number of categories. On Wednesday 35 air men and women left for Louisiana to defend their title. The week long competition will consist of a number of different categories from maintenance to more exciting categories like helicopter tactics!

F.E. Warren Air Force Base and the 90th Missile Wing, have a close relationship with the city of Cheyenne and the community. Every year F.E. Warren Air Force Base teams up with Cheyenne Frontier Days to provide a breath-taking aerial performances by the Thunderbirds. When it comes to the safety and well-being of our country though, the base itself boasts 150 Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missiles for the strategic deterrence of our nation.

Come November 10th, the 90th Missile Wing at F.E. Warren might once again be home to the competition's Blanchard Trophy, an achievement that should bring comfort to those civilians uncertain about the safety and security of our great state and nation.
