Big Horn High School Recognized As A High-Performing Blue Ribbon School

Big Horn High School in Big Horn, Wyoming has been recognized nationwide as a high-performing Blue Ribbon School. The prestigious title was awarded by the U.S. Education Department.

Big Horn High School is the first high school from Wyoming since 1992 to receive the honor. It's also only the 4th high school in the state to ever to be recognized with the award. Another school from Wyoming that appeared on the 2011 high-performing list was Gilchrist Elementary School near Cheyenne.

According to the Sheridan Press, a total of 305 schools nationwide were named 2011 National Blue Ribbon Schools based on their overall academic excellence or for their success in closing achievement gaps.
