Harmony Residents Honored at Ag Appreciation Banquet

The Laramie Chamber Business Alliance recently presented the The Leah & Harrison Talbott Agricultural Leadership Award to Ron and Ruth Blake at the Ag Appreciation Banquet held at the Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center.

More than 430 people attended the dinner and were present for the award ceremony.  Ron and Ruth Blake were selected for their contributions to Harmony, Albany County, and the entire agricultural community.

"It has been said their trademark is their willingness to volunteer, give support, valued advice and provide leadership as well as hard work. It has been stated many times that they were cut from the same mold as Harrison and Leah Talbott and they embody what Leah and Harrison Talbott were all about,” said Agribusiness Committee Member Kathy Guffey.  "They are a genuine, hardworking, compassionate couple who have many friends and are always ready to volunteer their time and talents to help others in need.”

The Ag Appreciation Banquet is held annually to show appreciation and create networking opportunities for the people of the agricultural industry.  The goal of the banquet is to facilitate greater understanding between the city and rural elements of the populace, particularly in terms of the opportunities and challenges each group faces.
