LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — Three felony charges have been formally filed against a Laramie man who was shot by officers investigating a reported auto burglary in August.

The Associated Press reports Kevin R. Cook was charged this week with burglary, third-degree arson and aggravated assault. Laramie police have said officers shot Cook after he allegedly struck at an officer with an iron pry bar.

His mother says Cook, who is hearing impaired, was shot four times and sustained injuries to his right femur, lungs, spleen and an artery.

The officers involved in the incident, Taun Smith and Josh Anderson, were cleared to return to duty.
