The Wyoming Cowgirls won their fourth straight game by defeating Weber State, 77-62, on Friday night in Laramie. Kayla Woodward tied her season high with 20 points while Kaitlyn Mileto scored 18 to move the Cowgirls to 8-1 on the season.

"Kaitlyn and Kayla did a great job shooting the basketball," said head coach Joe Legerski. "Both of them shot over 50 percent. That's a great effort."

A 14-2 run in the final 3:05 of the first half was capped off by a Mileto trey just before the buzzer. UW took a 44-27 lead into the locker room, but the Wildcats continued to press and make small runs through the second half.

"They played a tough game and it never really felt like we were up by a lot," said Mileto. "It always felt like it was down to the last two points, but it was just playing. Playing all the way down till that last buzzer sounds is crucial in any game and so that's what we had to do."

The Cowgirls shot 50 percent (28/56) from the field and out-rebounded Weber State 44-30 to secure the win. Woodward grabbed 7 rebounds, 6 of them of the offensive end.

"Getting rebounds is just the 'want' to get it," said Woodward. "We have everyone that just wants to go get the ball. We have that determination so we're doing a great job on the boards."

Ashley Sickles put up 14 points with 6 rebounds and Chaundra Sewell had 9 points and 11 rebounds. When Sewell picked up her third foul with 6:01 left in the first half, Fallon Lewis put in some crucial minutes for the Cowgirls and finished with 9 points and 5 rebounds.

The game against Weber State was the Cowgirls first of three in a five day span. UW will play at Bowling Green on Sunday, Dec. 16th at 11 a.m. and then at Ball State on Tuesday, Dec. 18th at 5 p.m. Both games will air on KOWB.
