UW Police Investigating Death At War Memorial Stadium

War Memorial Stadium has once again seen another fatality. The death happened Thursday evening at approximately 6:40pm. This marks the second time in almost three months that someone has died on the grounds of War Memorial Stadium. University of Wyoming police are investigating.They say a 43-year-old Laramie man was found dead Thursday night at War Memorial Stadium.

The 43 year old man has been identified but a name will not be released until next of kin is notified. According to University of Wyoming records, the man is not affiliated with the university as faculty, staff or student.

UW police received notice and were dispatched at about 6:40 p.m. Thursday to the southeast corner of the stadium. The body had been found on the asphalt pathway. Emergency Medical Services were notified but the man was deceased upon arrival.

According to UW police, it appears the man climbed over the safety rail at the top of the southeast corner of the stadium and jumped. The body has been released to the Albany County Coroner’s Office for further examination. No other details are available at this time but the University of Wyoming will release additional information when it becomes available.
