Wyoming and BYU are the only Mountain West Conference teams to move on to the second round of the Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) as TCU lost to Oral Roberts, 78-74, on Thursday night in Fort Worth.

First-Team All-Mountain West selections Helena Sverrisdottir recorded a triple double and Emily Carter put up 30 points, but it wasn't enough for TCU to keep their season alive.  The Horned Frogs finished the conference season second to BYU with a 13-3 conference record.  They also finished second in the 2011 Conoco MWC Championships after losing to Utah in the tournament final, 52-47. TCU closed the year with a 22-11 record and only their third home loss in 38 games.

BYU advanced to the second round of the WNIT with a 75-60 win over Denver on Thursday.  The Lady Cougars won the MWC regular season with a 15-1 record.  They beat Wyoming in both meetings this season.  First in Provo, 73-48, then in Laramie, 77-56.  BYU also knocked the Cowgirls out of the WNIT last year, 67-63, in the third round.  If Wyoming and BYU meet again it will be in the Quarterfinal Round.

Wyoming head coach Joe Legerski said he hasn't looked at much of the bracket, but has instead kept the focus on the upcoming game.

"We don't look very far ahead, if you do, you can get beat and then you just stay home." -Wyoming head coach Joe Legerski

Wyoming rolled over Portland State, 79-44, on Wednesday in Laramie and will host Oklahoma State at 7 p.m. Monday in the second round of the WNIT.  Oklahoma State beat Pepperdine, 81-74, behind 34 points and 18 rebounds from sophomore standout Toni Young.

Wyoming Coach Joe Legerski says the Cowgirls have yet to see a player of the Caliber of Young this season.  Young averages 15.5 points and 9.1 rebounds a game.  Legerski says it will take a team effort to slow Young down, but says they have to be sure not to overlook the rest of Oklahoma State's talented team.

Wyoming has a 23-8 record and is 13-3 in the AA.  Oklahoma State is 17-14 on the season and only 1-8 on the road.

Coverage of the Cowgirls WNIT second round game against Oklahoma State Monday night will begin on KOWB at 6:30 p.m.  You can also get updates throughout the game on twitter by following @KOWBRadio.
