Time Capsule To Be Opened

Laramie residents will get a look at items sealed away fifty years ago. A dedication box, or time capsule, was presented to First Interstate Bank during their grand opening on June 6, 1964 to be opened 50 years later. The time capsule will be opened Friday, June 6 during Good Morning Laramie at the Hilton Garden Inn.

Good Morning Laramie is an event sponsored by the Laramie Chamber Business Alliance, which will take place Friday at 7 a.m.

For those who do not attend the event, items from within the dedication box can be seen at the downtown branch of First Interstate Bank from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

After the box is opened, cornerstone members of the Laramie Chamber Business Alliance will create a new capsule to be opened in 50 years.

While the contents of the box are not known, a letter from the mayor of Laramie at the time the box was sealed is expected to be in the contents.
