RIVERTON, Wyo. (AP) — Thousands of Rocky Mountain Power customers went without electricity for almost an hour Tuesday following a traffic accident near Riverton.

The driver of a vehicle that hit a power pole on Tuesday says she hit a patch of ice while trying to avoid oncoming traffic and hit a power pole.

According to the Associated Press witnesses said they could see sparks shooting into the air after the accident.

Officials say about 2,400 customers were without power beginning around noon.
