Thieves Steal Jumping Jacks from Cheyenne Business
The Laramie County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in finding whoever stole two jumping jack tampers from a business in the 600 block of S. Avenue B-5.
“The items were taken between the evening hours of April 18 and the morning hours of April 19,” said Lt. Don Hollingshead.
“It looks like they went to the back parking lot of G I Forum, went across the fence into the business and then carried them out,” he added. “They’re pretty heavy, they’re probably about 300 pounds a piece, so there’s a couple of people that did this.”
Hollingshead says the tampers, which are used to compact the ground around construction sites, were valued at $5,000.
“It’s a pretty big hit to a local business,” said Hollingshead.
Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call Crime Stoppers Silent Witness at (307) 638-TIPS. Callers will remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
