Wyoming National Guard to Help Fight High Park Fire
A Wyoming National Guard UW-60 Black Hawk helicopter and a team of four Wyoming National Guard troops will work to fight the High Park Fire in northern Colorado. They are being sent by Governor Matt Mead, who the Governor's Office says received a request for their use from the State of Colorado.

Wyoming National Guard troops serving in Kosovo got a special visit from one of their senators this Thanksgiving. U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) shared Thanksgiving dinner with members of Detachment Three, B Compnay, 777th Aviation Support Battalion stations at Camp Bondsteel, Kosovo.
Governor Mead Signs Disaster Declaration in Response to Wyoming Flooding
Although there has been no single major disaster, damages associated with landslides, saturated agricultural lands, flash flooding in Crook County and the record levels in rivers, creeks and streams across Wyoming have compelled Governor Matt Mead to sign a disaster declaration. Mead says the declaration is necessary for the state to qualify for assistance from the federal government.
Director of the Wyoming Office of Homeland Security Guy Cameron says current estimates total more than $6.8 million in damages and include the cost of preventative efforts.
Wyoming Counties Getting State Help to Prepare for Flooding
Wyoming Governor Matt Mead signed an executive order Friday directing the Wyoming Office of Homeland Security and the Wyoming National Guard to deploy small teams to help counties prepare for possible flooding. A release from the Governor's Office says the order came after careful analysis of snowpack levels (which are over 200% of statewide average), weather forecasts, moisture content in the ground, river levels and future runoff.
