It is always an exciting time when one of our local teams is in the running for a championship and fortunately the Cowgirls have given us a lot to cheer about in the past few years. We thought it would be nice to keep everyone updated on the Cowgirls current status in the tournament by providing a WNIT bracket that will be changed as they progress.

Seniors Aubrey Vandiver and Hillary Carlson combined for 46 points to propel the Wyoming Cowgirl basketball team past the Portland State Vikings, 79-44, in the first round of the WNIT on Wednesday night in the Arena-Auditorium.

The University of Wyoming women's basketball team received an at-large bid to the 2011 Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) Monday night.  They will host the Portland State Vikings in the first round on Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
