Road Closures

Strong winds are creating dangerous driving conditions across portions of Interstates 25 and 80 in southeast Wyoming.

“I appreciate all of the people who took time to speak with me in person or send in their comments about this project,” said Romero.

It's a been a rough day for travel anywhere in southeast Wyoming, as most roads have been closed since early Wednesday morning.

“We distribute information about our projects in a broad and timely fashion, but can’t always control the various outlets through which people receive their news," said Romero.

The road closures would provide areas of secure habitat for deer and elk during transition periods, difficult winter months and the fawning and calving season.

The Wyoming Department of Transportation has closed the westbound lane of Interstate 80 between Laramie and Cheyenne.

WYDOT has shut down I-80 throughout southern Wyoming due to the winter storm that has passed.

According to a press release from the Wyoming Department of Transportation, there will be a closure on Interstate 80 at milepost 273.85 in the westbound lane, approximately 2 miles east of Arlington.
