At a packed house in the Wildcatter Suites Sunday evening, University of Wyoming Athletic Director Tom Burman announced the hiring of Craig Bohl as the 32nd head football coach at UW. Bohl receives a 5-year deal, through 2018, and is guaranteed $750,000 in his first year. The contract will escalate each year with incentives.
After five years at the helm of the Laramie Lady Plainsmen basketball program, Rod Tyson has decided to step down as head coach. He officially submitted a letter of resignation to Laramie High School Athletic Director Bruce Schmidt this morning.
Chad Callihan has been hired as the new head coach of the University of Wyoming women’s volleyball program. Callihan becomes the 13th head volleyball coach in Cowgirl history. He replaces Carrie Yerty, who resigned on May 3.
It took less than one calendar year. Ted Holmstrom has officially resigned as the head football coach of the Laramie Plainsmen. He steps aside after a 1-8 season in 2012 and held the position about 11 months. It also means that Laramie High School will begin a search for their 5th head football coach in the last decade.
