As the city's green waste program comes to an end, city officials are trying to address issues that come with the change.

Mayor Andrea Summerville said the city council is reviewing the policy over concerns that the charge for a non-consensual tow was not always fair, with some tow companies on the city’s rotational list for non-consensual tows charging more than others.

The move is intended to bring Laramie into line with state statues regarding first offender treatments for controlled substance defendants in municipal court.

She said the biggest difference in the budget this year is that the city does has nearly no capital improvement program.

Laramie Mayor Andrea Summerville said the state legislature passed a number of bills that substantially changed aspects of Wyoming’s liquor laws, which will require Laramie to update their ordinances.

The proposal seeks changes to the recommended prohibited activities table in the protection plan that has to deal with hazardous toxic substances related to vehicle repair.

Summerville said she first brought up the idea of a task force during the Dec. 7 listening session hosted by UW, as an aspect of her larger plan for UW community engagement.
