A 39-year-old Montana man has waived extradition in Gallatin County District Court Monday.  This means he will face charges in the state of  Wyoming.

Authorities say that Jesse Paul Speer was arrested in connection with the kidnapping of an 11-year-old girl in Cody, Wyoming.

Court records filed in Cody identified Speer as the suspect.  He was arrested Saturday in Belgrade, Montana on a Wyoming warrant, alleging charges of aggravated assault and felony use of a weapon.

Speer is currently being held without bond in Callatin County Detention Center until he is transported to Wyoming.

Cody Police Chief Perry Rockvam says video taken at Yellowstone National Park provided a license plate number that led to the arrest.  The Cody girl has been returned to her family.
