Fan appreciation night was soured Friday night at Laramie High School, as the Lady Plainsmen and Plainsmen were both beaten by Rock Springs in a girl's-boy's doubleheader. It was the second time LHS was swept by the Tigers this season.

The Laramie Lady Plainsmen (6-6) struggled with foul trouble and poor shooting, as they lost to the Rock Springs Lady Tigers 47-38. Laramie shot just 29 percent from the field and went only 12-27 (44%) from the free throw line. They also committed 26 turnovers in the loss.

Rock Springs (4-8) used a strong second half, as they held Laramie to 14 total points, and made just enough free throws. The Lady Tigers were led by Mariah Smith with 12 points and Savannah Freuler with 10 points.

Joey Harris had 8 points and 14 rebounds to lead Laramie, while Caitlan Hensley added 8 points.

The boy's game was ragged. A total of 59 fouls were called, and the two teams combined for 83 free throw attempts. Rock Springs (6-6) rallied with a big fourth quarter, as they scored 34 points and were victorious 81-78 over the Plainsmen.

Laramie (2-10) built a 9-point lead early in the fourth, but untimely turnovers, along with a 16-6 run by the Tigers gave them the lead. It came down to a pair of free throws made by sophomore Jared Rodriguez with 2.8 seconds left that iced it. The game featured 15 lead changes and 11 ties.

Rock Springs was led by Darek Mattison and Lennon Spence with 22 points apiece. The Tigers were 33-48 (69%) at the free throw line.

LHS was led by Drew Burman with 17 points and 7 rebounds before he fouled out with 8 seconds left in the third quarter. Tye Brown added 16 points and Jake Aadland 14. Four Plainsmen fouled out, as Laramie lost their fifth straight game.

Both LHS teams return to action with their final non-conference game at Green River Saturday. The girl's game will tip-off at 2:30 p.m followed by the boy's game at 4 p.m.
