Oklahoma State sophomore standout, Toni Young, suffered a season-ending arm injury in practice Friday.  Young broke her arm while falling to the ground following a two-handed dunk during OSU's practice inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.

This certainly changes things for the Cowgirl basketball team, both of them.

The Oklahoma State Cowgirls (17-14) are set to travel to Laramie to take on the Wyoming Cowgirls (23-8) on Monday at 7 p.m. in the second round of the WNIT.

In the first round game against Pepperdine, Young had 34 points and 18 rebounds to post her 14th double-double of the season, which leads the Big 12.  She is OSU's leading scorer with 15.5 points per game.

On Friday morning Wyoming head coach Joe Legerski claimed his Cowgirls had not seen a player of Young's caliber and said UW would most likely utilize a zone defense in order to try and slow her down.

Oklahoma State head coach Kurt Budke called the injury unfortunate in a release from the university, saying it happened after perhaps her best dunk of the year and five or six other spectacular dunks in that practice.

"I hate it. I hate it for Toni and I hate it for our team...someone will have to step up if we are going to win against a quality Wyoming team" -OSU coach Kurt Budke

Earlier this week Swish Appeal did a story on Young and her pursuit to become the eighth woman in NCAA history to record a throw down from above the rim with one hand during competition.

Actually, Young has been jamming the ball since high school.  Proof is below.
