After months of preparation and planning the Alpine Tennis Association will now be able to build an indoor and outdoor tennis facility in Laramie. In front of a packed house, the Laramie City Council unanimously approved the lease allowing the ATA to begin building on city property adjacent to the Laramie Community Recreation Center.

Construction of the facility will be conducted through three separate phases. Phase one will begin with the  development of a parking lot and drainage as well as two indoor courts. The second phase will consist of construction of four outdoor courts and four quick start courts. The third stage will include the completion of two additional indoor courts.

The City of Laramie will only be providing the land on which the ATA will then build upon. All funding will come from the Alpine Tennis Association. In regards to the lease agreement, the city has agreed to agreed to continue a positive relationship with the the Parks and Recreation Department and ATA and will offer tennis lessons at a reduced rate.
