CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — The Natrona County School District is considering adding new requirements for high school graduation.

The Associated Press reported Tuesday that the district board is considering increasing the number of credits needed for graduation to 27.5, three more than the current requirement.

The board is also considering adding new credit requirements for math and science, the arts, civic responsibility, financial literacy and a capstone project.

If approved, the new requirements would start with next year's freshman class.

Mark Mathern, an associate superintendent for the district, says the board will weigh feedback from the community and schools before deciding whether to add the requirements.
