The latest WyoPreps.com Coaches and Media football rankings have a new No. 1 ranked team in the big school class.

There are also six newly ranked teams and at least one change in each of the five classes.

In 4A, Thunder Basin takes over the top spot. The Bolts won a tight game last Friday on the road over third-ranked Cheyenne East. Thunder Basin received 17 of the 20 first-place votes. Sheridan comes off a victory over previous No. 1 Natrona County. The Broncs garnered three first-place votes and move up to No. 2. The Thunderbirds hold at three, while NC falls from first to fourth this week. For the fourth straight poll, there’s a new No. 5, as Cheyenne Central takes over that spot after their road win at the previously ranked Rock Springs Tigers last Friday night.

The Star Valley Braves continue their firm grip on No. 1 in Class 3A. They are a unanimous choice for the top spot in this week's balloting. Cody holds at No. 2 with Jackson right behind in third. Powell moves up a spot to fourth, which pushes Douglas down to No. 5.

Buffalo is still alone atop Class 2A, but their margin is slimmer this week than last. Mountain View is now only six points back in the poll. Two new entrants into the poll are Lovell and Lyman, who make their debut at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively. Glenrock holds in fifth.

The top three remain unchanged in Class 1A. Big Horn is on top, but by a slim three-point margin over Upton-Sundance. The Patriots impressed voters with their blowout of a ranked 2A opponent in Wheatland last Friday night. Cokeville holds at No. 3. Lusk is back in the rankings at No. 4, which pushes Rocky Mountain down to fifth.

Finally, in 6-man, the top three are the same as they have been. Little Snake River is No. 1 followed by H.E.M. and Farson-Eden. The Pronghorns closed the margin down to only six points in the poll behind the Miners. For a second straight week, there are two new teams at four and five. They are Hulett and Riverside.
