Former University of Wyoming football standout and rookie defensive tackle for the Denver Broncos, Mitch Unrein, checked in with David Settle and Kari Eakins on Sportsline Live Wednesday. Unrein went through his journey to the NFL, what the Denver defense has focused on during the bye week and even weighed in on Tim Tebow being named the starting quarterback.

Listen to the full interview below.

I don't think it's Orton's fault that we're 1-and-4 by any means, but I think it's a good change to get Tebow out there. He brings a lot of excitement to the game and an energy to the other players around him. Whenever he has the ball in his hands, you never know what's going to happen. So I think it's good for us, he's just going to keep on getting better once he keeps going in more in the NFL.

But for him getting so much attention and everything, the way I look at, I see the guy every day. He's just a regular guy, to me at least. He's pretty down to earth and a hard worker. Other than that he's just a great guy overall and the way he works makes the other people on the team even work that much harder. So it's great to have him out there and I think everyone's excited to get back from this bye week and go down to Miami.

The Denver Broncos are 1-4 under first year head coach John fox and will head to Miami on Sunday, Oct. 23rd. After college, Unrein was signed by Houston as an undrafted free agent and spent the 2010 preseason with the Texans. This year he has appeared in 4 games for the Broncos and recorded 4 tackles.

When I first walked onto Wyoming, the last thing I thought was that I'd be on an NFL team, especially from my home state for the Denver Broncos. It's just surreal and it's one thing for all the younger guys, hard work pays off, so if you just keep your head on your shoulders and keep on working hard anything is possible.
