The winning streak continued for the Laramie girls, while the boys lost on day two of the Bill Strannigan East-West Challenge in Riverton. The Lady Plainsmen held off the Riverton Lady Wolverines 54-42. Meanwhile, the Plainsmen lost their top 3 showdown against the Wolverines, 66-52.

The Lady Plainsmen (7-2) won their 5th straight game by downing Riverton 54-42. Laramie started the game on a 15-0 run and took a 37-17 lead going into the half. In the second half, LHS was out-played and out-scored 25-17, but made enough plays to pull out the victory. Laramie was led by Madison Legerski for the second straight night with 16 points. Katie Kuhn followed with 13 points. The 5th-ranked Lady Plainsmen finish the tournament against Kelly Walsh Saturday. Tip-off is set for Noon.

The boys on the other hand suffered their second loss of the season to 3rd-ranked Riverton, 66-52. After a back-and-forth first quarter that saw four lead changes and three ties, the Wolverines held a 16-13 edge on a Xavier Webb 3-pointer before the quarter ended. In the second, Riverton cranked up the offense and out-scored LHS 24-13 for a 40-24 lead at half. The teams played even in the second half, as Laramie was only able to trim the deficit to single digits once in the fourth quarter. Sam Feldman led the Plainsmen with 15 points. Tyler Loose followed with 12. The Laramie boys are now 7-2 on the season. The 2nd-ranked Plainsmen face Kelly Walsh in their final game of the tournament on Saturday at 1:30pm in Riverton.
