CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Kathy Vetter, of Wheatland, has been elected the next president of the Wyoming Education Association.

Currently an instructional facilitator, Vetter will officially assume her new role as head of the teachers union on July 15.

Vetter will succeed current WEA President, Kathryn Valido, who has served in that office for the past six years. Valido was not eligible to seek another two-year term because of term limits.

Vetter has worked in Wheatland for the past 30 years. She has been an active WEA member for her entire teaching career and is the current National Education Association director for Wyoming.
