Graham Loses Arbitration Ruling – NFL Roundup

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — An arbitrator has ruled that the Saints' Jimmy Graham is a tight end and that's how he'll get paid for purposes of his franchise tag designation.

Graham and the NFL Players association had filed a grievance arguing that Graham was used as a wide receiver often enough to qualify for the more lucrative receiver tag. But arbitrator Stephen Burbank disagreed and now the NFLPA is reviewing his ruling, and will advise Graham on his options, which could include an appeal.

The decision could cost Graham $5.3 million. That's the difference between what a franchise tag wide receiver and tight end receive.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Bills linebacker Kiko Alonso will miss the upcoming season after suffering a torn ACL in his left knee. The team says the second year player will require surgery that will prevent him from playing this season. Alonso was an NFL defensive rookie of the year contender last season after leading Buffalo with 159 tackles.
