The names of three men who were killed in an explosion at an oil storage site in Converse County have yet to be identified but state and federal authorities are investigating what caused the explosion. The explosion also sparked a 10 acre fire in the Hornbuckle Ranch located 50 miles northeast of Casper.

The three men, employed by Samson Resources Company, were working on a fuel line intended to supply a heater treatment facility. The facility separates oil from water as the two are pumped out of the ground. Work was being done there  to bring an oil well back into production. The explosion and subsequent fire occurred at approximately 10am Monday.

The 10 acre fire was quickly contained and according to the Converse County Sheriff's Office the site was secured shortly after. As of now the identities of the three men have not been released and the explosion is currently under investigation by state and federal authorities.
