CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Wyoming Sens. Mike Enzi and John Barrasso have joined with other U.S. senators is expressing concern about the UN Arms Trade Treaty.

The two Republicans have signed on to a resolution stating that the treaty poses significant risks to U.S. national security, foreign policy and economic interests as well as to the constitutional rights of U.S. citizens and sovereignty.

Among the concerns of opponents is that the proposed agreement would threaten the right of U.S. citizens to keep and bear arms.

The proposed resolution encourages President Barack Obama not to sign the agreement.

Negotiations on the UN treaty are set to continue next week in New York.
