Question:

Is it legal to drive at night with your car's interior dome light on?

Answer:

"Laramie Municipal Code 10.16.480 deals with special restrictions generally. Subsection A of this states that:

Any lighted lamp or illuminating device upon a motor vehicle other than head lamps, spot lamps, auxiliary lamps, or flashing turn signals, emergency vehicle warning lamps, and school bus warning lamps, which projects a beam of light of an intensity greater than 300 candlepower shall be so directed that no part of the high intensity portion of the beam will strike the level of the roadway on which the vehicle stands a distance of 75 feet from the vehicle.

Therefore, if the dome light does not violate this subsection, there is no law against driving with it on at night."

Ask the City Of Laramie is your chance to send the city that burning question that you have always wondered about such as: “How can I get a city parking permit?” or “Why did my water usage rates go through the roof?”

Please note that the City of Laramie will answer as many questions as possible at their discretion.
