The University of Wyoming volleyball team forced a match to five sets after losing the first two once again, but could not prevail in the final set and Texas Christian University beat the Cowgirls 22-25, 21-25, 25-21, 25-21, 8-15.

"You can't start two games down to none and expect to win and then you've got to be able to execute your game plan. It wasn't our night tonight and TCU played a great match," said Head Coach Carrie Yerty. "We need our whole roster to play."

Wyoming held the advantage over the Horned Frogs in blocking with 10.5 team blocks to TCU's 7.0, but every other statistical category was either even or in TCU's advantage. The Horned Frogs picked up 101 digs in the match, 33 of them coming from their libero, Sarah Joekel.

"I think TCU's libero was unbelievable and we had a really hard time hitting away from her. Our game plan wasn't to hit to left back and we hit to left back all night long, which doesn't help us out any," said Coach Yerty. "Our team battled back, but in critical times when we'd get them out of system, we'd make the error and you can't win games like that."

Junior outside hitter Jody Purdy led the Cowgirls with 15 kills, 19 digs, 1 ace and 3 block assists. Calli Miller chipped in 13 kills and 12 digs and Erin Kirby put down 10 kills while hitting .444 for the match. Setter Rachel Keyes had 26 assists and 1 ace.

TCU (17-3, 4-2) was led by Kristen Hester with 18 kills and 3 aces. Five Horned Frogs recorded double-digits in kills, including setter Megan Munce who found 10 kills with setter dumps to go along with 50 assists.

Wyoming (13-8, 3-3) will continue conference play on Saturday, Oct. 15th, when they host New Mexico (10-8, 3-3) at 7 p.m. in the UniWyo Sports Complex.
