Cheyenne is the state capitol, home to F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyoming Air and Army National Guard facilities and the VA hospital. Cheyenne has done good things for its citizens and according to a new report, Cheyenne has been ranked as the best city with a population under 175,000 for military retirees to live.

Military.com and USAA conducted the report. The report notes that Cheyenne has a relatively high employment opportunities as well as local access to medical care for veterans. Overall, the study looked at 379 communities. Cheyenne came out on top scoring high on a number of criteria. Cheyenne scored high on housing costs, taxes, proximity to a VA hospital, and career opportunities for veterans after military service.
