Cheyenne District Partnering With Group To Resolve Bullying Issues

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — The Cheyenne school district is partnering with a nonprofit group to help students, families and school officials resolve bullying issues.

Laramie County School District 1 Superintendent Mark Stock says the partnership with the group UPLIFT started Tuesday.

Stock tells the Wyoming Tribune Eagle (http://bit.ly/HTZPxC) that UPLIFT will offer family support specialists to help families and students.

He says while most bullying issues can be handle through the school, the service will offer neutral, third-party support for those who aren’t comfortable going to school personnel or who aren’t satisfied with previous outcomes.

Stock says UPLIFT isn’t being paid by the district.

UPLIFT members already have worked with the school district, offering advocacy and support services for families that have students with disabilities or special needs.
