The Centennial Valley Volunteer Fire Department will once again be holding their annual open house and fundraiser. The event will be on Saturday at 12pm to 3pm at the CVVFD Station on Wyoming Highway 130 in Centennial.

The CVVFD is one of the oldest fire departments in Albany County and is run completely by volunteers. The department has been serving the Centennial area for 40 years.Currently there are 29 volunteers, some of which are seasonal or are only during wildfire season.

The open house and fundraiser will include a pig roast as well as other free food and a silent auction. Fire truck rides will also be given. There are a number of great items that will be auctioned or raffled away including two season tickets to UW's Fine Art's Cultural Program Series, a set of tickets to UW vs. TCU in November, pairs of tickets to Colorado Rockies Games as well as a number of other things.

Our sister station 95.1 KCGY will even be doing a live broadcast from the event! You can tune in and listen to Kari Eakins and Lance Cook from 12pm to 3pm!

The open house and fundraiser event is a great way to show support for those who volunteer to keep residents as well as the surrounding area safe from fires. Last year alone the department responded to 40 calls. Out of those 40 calls 23 were wildfires, seven were structure fires and three were vehicle accidents.
