Last week's results shook things up in the latest coaches/media rankings, and 3 new #1's have emerged.

Cheyenne Central is the new top ranked team in 4A. Their win at former #1, now #2 Campbell County cleared the way to the top spot. Rock Springs moves up to #3 after winning the Pinnacle Cup Tournament at Worland. The Tigers have the week off and have an early season at Central, but it's that loss to unranked Cheyenne East, that's holding them back from a higher spot. Defending champ Laramie is ranked #4 and visits Central on Friday. Natrona drops to #5, and is in danger of dropping out after their recent loss at unranked Green River. Most of the votes had already been cast, before that final score came in.

The new 3A boys rankings could be confusing. Worland is now on top, as they were the highest 3A team at last week's tournament. Although they lost their last 2 games, they were against 4A opponents, and took them both to a shootout, before coming up short. Torrington only fell 1 spot from #1 to #2, and they maybe surprising considering #5 Riverton ran over the TrailBlazers last week. #3 Lander finally got some games under their belt after a 2 week layoff, and sent notice to the Wolverines for the next matchup. Meanwhile, #4 Cody is out to prove that their performance at last week's Pinnacle Cup tournament at Worland was a fluke. Knocking in 8 goals earlier this week at Douglas was a good start.

In 4A Girls, Cheyenne East is firing on all cylinders. The Lady Thunderbirds are the new #1, after their win last week against former #1, now #2 Campbell County. East has another tough test on their hands, hosting #3 Laramie on Wednesday. #4 Kelly Walsh is undefeated, but has yet to face some of the best that the East has to offer. The Lady Trojans will get their chance on Tuesday of next week, when they also host the Lady Plainsmen. Cheyenne Central stays put at #5 and visits Laramie on Friday.

The only top spot that didn't change was in 3A Girls. Cody is the unanimous #1, and showed why last week, by winning the Southwest Tournament at Green River. Star Valley is up to #2 this week, and has the week off. Worland drops one spot to #3, and will soon start focusing on their big rematch next weekend vs. the Fillies. Buffalo remains at #4, while Riverton is back in the rankings at #5.
