The University of Wyoming recently released the 2nd edition of the "Wind Energy Guide." The guide was produced by UW's Ruckelshaus Institute of Environment and Natural Resources and the Cooperative Extension Service. UW's School of Energy Resources and College of Law also contributed to the 27 page guidebook. The 1st edition "Wind Energy Guide" was released in 2009.

The guidebook is to help Wyoming landowners better understand the leasing process for private land and commercial wind energy development. The newest edition features a user friendly format and includes updated legislative and tax information. Some helpful information the guidebook provides includes development options and agreements, transmission and collection lines, property rights and permitting taxes.

Free copies of the guidebook are available at University of Wyoming Cooperative Extension offices across Wyoming or can be obtained online by clicking here.
