Two people have been arrested near the city of Laramie on charges of possession of psilocybin mushrooms.

19-year-old Nathan A. Robertson of New Mexico and 19-year-old Heidi L. Turpen of Cody, were arrested on Northbound US Highway 287 near milepost 416 in Albany County.

According to court paperwork, Wyoming Highway Patrol officials pulled the pair over for speeding and failure to maintain a lane of travel.  Upon search of the vehicle, investigators discovered narcotics and paraphernalia in the car that Turpen and Robertson were traveling in, including 15 ounces of hallucinogenic mushrooms.

Robertson and Turpen made their initial appearance in Albany County Circut Court yesterday (Monday) morning. Each is charged with one felony count each of possession of psilocybin mushrooms, with intent to distribute, and on misdemeanor charge each of possession.

Both suspects were given $11,000 cash bonds during their court appearances on Monday.  As of Tuesday morning, Turpen remains in custody at the Albany County Jail.  Robertson was released on bond Monday evening.
