A Democratic Representative from Cheyenne is sponsoring a bill in the state house that would increase the state's minimum wage from the current $5.15 per hour to $9.50.
The legislature said yes, Matt Mead said no, and since the Governor has the last word, planning of the proposed new state office building will be delayed.
The Wyoming House and Senate have passed parallel budget bills spelling out their respective visions of how to fund state government over the next two years. Both bills call for roughly $3.2 billion in spending for the period starting in July.
