Jhett Johnson of Casper was possibly the unlikeliest bet to win a world championship at this week’s $6 million Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. He and his team-roping partner, Turtle Powell of Texas, entered rodeo’s Super Bowl ranked 12th of the 15 top teams in terms of earnings this season in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, and Powell’s horse, appropriately named Vegas, was out of commission due to illness.

With round 8 of the National Finals Rodeo wrapping up last night there isn't much time left before the last two most decisive rounds of the rodeo. Almost every event is still up in the air as close competition continues with the best cowboys and cowgirls in the world...
