The University of Wyoming recently released the 2nd edition of the "Wind Energy Guide." The guide was produced by UW's Ruckelshaus Institute of Environment and Natural Resources and the Cooperative Extension Service. UW's School of Energy Resources and College of Law also contributed to the 27 page guidebook. The 1st edition "Wind Energy Guide" was released in 2009.

A new wind farm that will be located in the southern part of the state will be using military technology to track bird and bat habitat and migration patterns.
