The Cheyenne City Council on Monday night approved an ordinance to create a Civic Center Commons Oversight Team to complete the West Edge project.

The ordinance will be up for third and final reading at the Council's regular meeting Tuesday, July 19.

“They’ve been bringing not only the local manager but also vice presidents, and listening to us and also responding very quickly to customers’ concerns,” says Shumway. “Not that they solved all of them – because they didn’t.”

Charter representatives could not immediately be reached for comment.

The City ordinance also bans dialing a phone while driving, which Stalder says will be considered a primary offense along with texting while driving.

The chemical currently used in mosquito control fog trucks will be replaced with Zenivex, which the Environmental Protection Agency recognizes as a “Reduced Risk Pesticide.”

The City Manager’s office says City Council voted 5-4 in favor of the ordinance.
