Many teams are trying to get a lot of matches in during the first week of the season, before school starts.

The new high school tennis season is yet again filled with lofty expectations for Laramie, who has won a boy’s and girl’s title in the last two years.

Five days ago in Gillette, the Laramie Plainsmen stood atop the podium at the Wyoming High School State Tennis Championships.

For the third time in five years the Laramie Plainsmen won the Wyoming High School State Tennis Championships last weekend in Gillette.

The Wyoming Coaches Association has announced which tennis players have been named all-state for the 2017 season.

Gillette will host the state tournament at four facilities.

The 2017 Wyoming High School State Tennis Championships will take place Thursday through Saturday in Gillette.

Tennis players are playing for seeding at the upcoming state tournament.
