The Laramie City Council will vote tonight on whether to approve proposed improvements to the free landfill day offered to the community during their meeting Tuesday night.

LFD Fire Chief Dan Johnson said fire crews were attending the fire yesterday and this morning. He said crews were working to push the burning material to a central location and create and maintain a perimeter for the fire, as well as removing any burnable material outside of the perimeter.

Fire Chief Dan Johnson crews are there this morning and Solid Waste is operating heavy equipment to push the debris to a central location and has contained the fire to the green waste pile.

The program will replace the 'free' landfill day that has been offered to city and county residents in the past.

A Cheyenne woman whose 13-month-old son's body is believed to be in a northern Colorado landfill is facing felony child endangerment charges.

A Cheyenne man is facing up to 25 years in prison after being charged with manslaughter and child endangerment in the death of his girlfriend's baby boy.

The Landfill is on Roger Canyon Road, just a mile and a half north of Laramie.

The city says the continuing partnership reinforces county and city-wide efforts to clean up the community.
