Several topics were part of the monthly “Monday’s With The Mayor” series during the “Laramie Live on KOWB” radio morning show last Thursday.

The City of Laramie is getting ready for the 2018 City-sponsored Fire in the Sky fireworks display next Wednesday, July 4th.

The Albany County Commissioners have enacted partial fire restrictions and a complete ban on fireworks within the county as of July 10.

A couple of quick reminders before the big holiday.

This year’s City of Laramie Fire in the Sky fireworks display is set for 10:00 p.m. on the night of July 4th, unless inclement weather conditions prevent the show.

This past weekend's precipitation temporarily lowered fire danger in some parts of the county, but dry conditions elsewhere and a high temperatures forecast over the next few days mean folks will have to take extra care to prevent wildfires.

There's a been a bunch of speculation about the cancellation of tonight's fireworks show in Laramie. This is false.

Many government agencies ban the use of fireworks on the lands they oversee. Some even ban the possession of fireworks on lands they manage.
