Their winning design in the category of “Advancement in Protective Equipment,” involves a new way of manufacturing material built from liquid-crystal elastomers that lend themselves well to being used as helmet padding.

The University of Wyoming Motorsports Club is ramping up their efforts for hands-on experience with a competition in 2019.

The Wyoming Motorsports club is hoping to use skills learned in the classroom in a real–life, hands on learning situation to build an electric formula race car and enter it in the Society of Automotive Engineers’ Formula Hybrid competition in 2019 in Loudon, New Hampshire.

The annual Elks Hoop Shoot competition will take place Saturday, Jan. 6 at the Laramie Community Recreation Center.
