House Bill 140 is headed to the Wyoming Senate after being approved by a 36-22 margin, with two absent on third and final reading in the Wyoming House.
The committee vote was tied 4-4, mostly along partisan lines, when committee chair Sue Wilson [R-Laramie County] cast the final and deciding vote in favor of the bill.
The Wyoming House has approved changes made in the state Senate to House Bill 182. The vote in the House in favor of concurring with the bill on Tuesday was 47-12. The bill will now go to Governor Matt Mead.
The bill's language specifically prohibits any federal funds from being used to pay for abortions and health benefits that include coverage of abortion.
