CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Wyoming’s senior U.S. senator told his former colleagues in the state Legislature that their approach to government is far more efficient than what goes on in Congress.

Sen. Mike Enzi, a Republican who served in both houses of the Wyoming Legislature before he went to Washington in the 1990s, spoke in the state Capitol in Cheyenne on Thursday.

Enzi says he’s amazed at how much the Legislature gets done in its short sessions. The Legislature is acting on hundreds of bills in its current four-week budget session. Enzi says it would be remarkable to get a single bill done in a week in Congress,

Enzi encouraged legislators to support his efforts to force Internet businesses to collect sales tax and remit the money to the states where purchasers live.
