Poll: Should Wyoming Get Rid Of Mail In Voting, Voting Machines?
Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray is backing legislation to get rid of mail-in voting and election machines in Wyoming
President Trump recently called for an end to mail-in voting and voting machines, claiming they are vulnerable to fraud.
Chuck Gray Says Yes
Gray last week issued a statement saying:
''I’m in complete and total support of President Trump’s statement this morning on election integrity. The election integrity measures President Trump outlined are very important and are supported by the people. I have successfully requested the Wyoming Legislature take up bills for the 2026 session that advance President Trump’s vision for election integrity outlined in his statement this morning, and I look forward to President Trump’s upcoming executive order. Just last Friday, I presented a bill draft to require pen and paper ballots as the defauElt method of voting in Wyoming to the Joint Corporations, Elections, and Political Subdivisions Committee of the Wyoming Legislature. We were successful in advancing this as a committee-sponsored bill for the 2026 Legislative Session, and I will continue to work to advance President Trump’s election integrity vision in Wyoming.”
Laramie County Clerk Says Mail-in Voting Is Safe
Townsquare Media asked Laramie County Clerk Debra Lee about mail in voting. "i think it's safe in Wyoming," Lee said. She noted that mail-in ballots are only sent to people who request them and that the ballots are closely tracked, with voters being required to sign an affidavit.
Lee also said the percentage of voters who cast ballots my mail is "high and getting higher." She says 26 percent of Laramie County voters cast ballots by mail in 2024.
The Center for Election Innovation and Research says claims that mail-in voting is open to fraud are "Not true: Voting by mail is not only safe and secure, it’s an integral component of keeping our elections secure and accessible. And it already has a long history of success.
