Two leading members of the Laramie Police Department are retiring from that agency after more than 20 years of service with the Department.

That's according to a post on the Laramie Police Department Facebook Page.

Assistant Chief Robert Terry Will Continue With The State POST Commission

According to the post, Assistant Chief Robert Terry is retiring after 23 years with the department. According to the post: Since joining in 2002, he has served as a Field Training Officer, SRT member, DRE instructor, and DCI Task Force Officer. His investigative work earned recognition from the FBI and the Wyoming Attorney General’s Office. Promoted to Sergeant in 2010, he led major investigations, taught at the state academy, and commanded the Special Response Team. Named Assistant Chief in 2016, he is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy. He continues his public safety career as Executive Director of the Wyoming POST Commission.

Lt. Ryan Thompson Is Retiring After Almost Three Decades

Lt. Ryan Thompson is retiring after 29 years with the Laramie Police Department. He most recently served as Community Services Lt. According to the post :A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, he joined LPD in 1996 and was named Honor Graduate of his class at the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy. He was a firearms instructor, SRT member, Field Training Officer, and DCI Task Force Officer. Promoted to Sergeant in 2003, he spent four years with the Casper PD, earning multiple commendations, before returning to LPD in 2007. As a Lieutenant since 2014, he led both Patrol and Support Services and commanded the Special Response Team. Lt. Thompson now continues his service as Assistant Chief of Police at the University of Wyoming.
