James Earl Jones Was Long Married To Cheyenne Native Cecilia Hart
The country is mourning the death of James Earl Jones, the beloved actor who passed on Monday at the age of 93.
Everyone knows Jones was an a major movie star with a long-list of awards on his resume. He also had a deep, distinctive voice, and in fact perhaps his most memorable roles were two where his face was never shown. Darth Vader in Star Wars and as Mufasa in the original animated version of The Lion King as well as its recent remake.
Jones And Cecilia Hart Were Married For Three Decades
But did you know he was married to a Cheyenne native for over three decades? Cecilia Hart, an accomplished actress in her own right, married Jones in 1982 and the two remained together until Hart died from ovarian cancer in 2016 according to Wikipedia.
Hart's resume included television roles included Three's Company, Quincy M.E. and MacGyver, among many other roles, again according to Wikipedia.
In his 1993 book Voices and Silences, Jones wrote that Cecilia Hart had the ability to make him laugh and "she did not take me seriously.''
He said that in turn allowed him to be himself with her.
According to Wikipedia, Hart was a Cheyenne native and was the daughter of an army officer. She moved to New York to be an actress.
Hart was born in Cheyenne on Feb. 19, 1948.
Hart had previously been married to actor Bruce Weitz. Hart and Weitz were married in 1971 and divorced n 1980. Weits is probably best known for his role as Sgt. Mick Belker in the 1980s tv series Hill Street Blues.
