Laramie put a notch in the left column in 4A football with a grueling 10-3 home win over Cheyenne Central on Friday to get to 1-2. The Plainsmen started the season with losses to Cheyenne East and Kelly Walsh but put together a superlative defensive performance on Friday vs. the Indians. Central is 0-3 with 3 excruciating losses, 2 of them by 7 points and another by 3 points.

Laramie did just enough scoring to win. It started with quarterback Fisher Frude throwing an 8-yard touchdown pass to Max Alexander to put the Plainsmen in front for good at 7-0. In the 3rd quarter, Central got on the board with a field goal from Jace Davis but the Tribe was plagued by turnovers and penalties.

Fisher Frude booted a 45-yard field goal in the 4th quarter to increase the Laramie lead to 10-3 and the Plainsmen defense did the rest. Alexander picked off a pass to end the game as the Plainsmen matched their victory total from a year ago with a long way to go this season.

Laramie will hit the road for Rock Springs on Friday while Central returns home to host Cheyenne South. We have a large collection of photos to pass along from Friday's game at Deti Stadium, courtesy of Cindi Lindsey. Check them out in our gallery below. Enjoy!
